About Clover Films

Clover Films is an award-winning documentary film production company with a reputation for credible, intelligent and popular journalism. Although our range is broad, we specialise in the area of international current affairs.

Clover Films brings together an enormously talented group dedicated to producing, as Victor Lewis Smith (TV critic of the London Evening Standard) described just one of our films: 'television at its finest'. Award-winning directors, journalists and cameramen, internationally-known human rights activists and best-selling authors all contribute to ensuring that this company continues to be recognised as a credible and entertaining voice in the world of television.

Our core team is listed below:

Jamie Doran

Jamie has worked at the highest levels of television film production over the past 30 years, with many of his films leading series both nationally and internationally. In that time, those films have been broadcast on virtually every major channel throughout the world. He spent over seven years at BBC Television before establishing an independent television company.

Some of his achievements in the international arena include what was widely described as the definitive film of the ‘Disappeared’ in Chile; the release of political prisoners from mental institutions in Romania; a dark and ultimately dangerous expose of the brutal regime in Burma; the extraordinary and controversial biography of Yuri Gagarin, the first human being in space, described by London Evening Standard critic Victor Lewis Smith as 'television at its finest'; and the true story of a contemporary Dr Zhivago saga, centred on the Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1968.

Tracey Doran-Carter

Clover's Managing Director, Tracey brings her wide experience gained at frontline industry companies such as Panavision and ESPN to Clover Films. As well as keeping the Clover office ship-shape, Tracey cuts the deals and attends the international business festivals. Tracey is also an experienced netball athlete, including being a South Region player (impressive!), and a Level 2 Coach... which is maybe why she's such a Clover boss(y).

Jim Mullins

Jim is a co-founded and a director at Clover Films. He is a non-executive director at TMT investments Plc, listed on the London Stock Exchange. He has been/is a director of five listed companies and has been involved in four IPO's, including Rambler Media Plc where he led its successful admission to the London Stock Exchange. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and he holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree from Trinity College, Dublin.

Andy McEntee

A human rights lawyer, and former head of several human rights outfits including Amnesty International UK, Andy led the chase resulting in the arrest of former Chilean dictator, General Augusto Pinochet in London. He divides his time between Clover and his other work, including international election observation missions with the EU and the OSCE, and is an expert with the UK Foreign Office’s ‘Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative’. He is also a regular commentator for international radio and TV on human rights, democracy and international security issues in Latin America, the Balkans, Southern Caucasus, and Central and South Asia.

Mark Oulson-Jenkins

Award-winning cameraman with extensive experience in worldwide trouble-spots including Afghanistan and the Balkans, Mark is both a qualified lighting cameraman and Director of Photography.

Fergus, our Chief of Security, has seven years experience tackling the very toughest postmen, policemen and anyone else in a uniform. Infamous throughout our region, his credentials are such that it is illadvised to argue with him.

Jinky, our Security Assistant, has principal responsibility for stairwells and doorways, and for bag-sniffs and full shoe-searches. His bark is not worse than his bite. He brings teeth to Clover projects, and currently is researching a film about human rights watchdogs.
